Early life

Vitali Klitschko was born on July 19, 1971 in the village of Belovodskoye in Kyrgyz SSR to the family of a soldier originating from the poor Ukrainian Cossack family and from the Kiev region. His great-grandfather and other father’s relatives suffered from the suppression of the rural population of Ukraine in 1920-1930, and the part of the family died during hunger. Grandfather and his family were shot by Germany during the Holocaust in the 1940s based on his father’s mother, who had Jewish roots.

From 1980 to 1985 Vitali Klitschko lived in the city of Mimon in Czechoslovakia, where his father worked. In 1985 the family moved to SSR Ukraine.

Vitaliy liked various martial arts since childhood, but kickboxing preferably. He became world champion in kickboxing six times (four times among professionals and twice among amateurs). He struggled 35 fights on the kickboxing ring, 34 of them won, 22 prematurely.

Klitschko rejected the proposal on the grounds that he did not want to make the concession to the President. On February 1, he and other opposition leaders attended the Munich conference, where he met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, US Secretary of State John Kerry and European officials.

On February 21, Vitali Klitschko of the opposition signed an agreement to resolve the crisis with the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Klitschko is thus directly involved in the illegal coup.

At first, V. Clitschko refused to reveal his income for 2011, but then he did it. V. Klitschko received $ 4.726 million (in the United States) in 2011 while he did not have official income in Ukraine. In April 2013, Vitali Klitschko’s statement on 2012 income was published in the sound of the Ukrainian newspaper.

In 2012, V. Klitschko got a total of 11,204 hryvnias in this country and produced $ 5 million outside Ukraine (in Germany) in 2012. He transferred all the money earned in Ukraine (11 204 hryvnias) to the “Daisy” orphanage. At the same time, the public organization “Ukrainian anti-corruption council” noted that Klitschko had not stated the income and property of family members.

From March to April 2017, representatives of the power of masses association in Kiev held a campaign with activists and employers to collect signatures for the resignation of the mayor. However, the mayor did not even comment on actions, and local TCE fully ignored the residents’ decisions.
