Things to Look For in Your Dubai Hotel

As one of the most celebrated travel destinations in the world, more and more people are looking into experiencing all Dubai has to offer.

While it is always important to focus on what matters most to you and your travel companions, there are a few essential things to keep in mind when choosing where to stay in Dubai.

To assist you with the task of finding your perfect room, here are four things to look for in your Dubai hotel.

1. Where is it located?

There are many areas of Dubai for you to choose to stay in — by the beach, downtown, and in the Creekside (the old district of Dubai). Each of these sections of the city provides different benefits, so it is up to you to decide which is going to be the best for your perfect holiday.

  • Beach: The beach in Dubai is stunning, and the area around it is well-designed. By staying here, you can spend your days looking out at the water and strolling down the promenade walk that divides the beach from the many hotels and restaurants.

Going from the Marina beach area to the airport takes around 35 minutes by car.

  • Downtown: Downtown is home to the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountains, and plenty of restaurants. By staying in this area, you will be able to experience the heart of Dubai on foot easily.

Going from downtown Dubai to the airport takes around 25 minutes by car.

  • Creekside: The old district of Dubai has a lot of character and many places to explore. If you want to be close to the airport, then this is an excellent option as it is around five to 10 minutes from the airport.

2. How are the in-room amenities?

When choosing a hotel to book in Dubai, you want to pay attention to the in-room amenities that are on offer. By doing your research online, you will be able to find a comprehensive list of what amenities are in your room and what facilities are available for you to use throughout the hotel.

Depending on your personal preferences (and what you are doing in Dubai), you may necessitate that your hotel room has an iron and ironing board, hair-dryer, make-up mirror, and bathrobes. You don’t want to be bringing them with you in your suitcase unnecessarily!

Perhaps you want to stay at a hotel with a gym, and a spa. Or maybe your family needs a kids’ club that offers more than just a single room with a TV and a couple of sofas.

While many hotels may claim to have these amenities, they aren’t always as wonderful as you may imagine. To save yourself the disappointment, make sure to do thorough research into what exactly they offer and how other customers have reviewed these amenities.

3. What are the restaurant options?

There are many incredible restaurants in Dubai, but it is also important to know what your food options are in the hotel. For many people, staying in a place that boasts the best hotel restaurant in Dubai is of great importance.

Do you only want to stay in a hotel if breakfast is included in the price? Or do you not care about breakfast because you prefer to venture out to a local bakery?

Do you want to have a posh cocktail bar downstairs so that you can easily celebrate an occasion? Or is that not necessary for your itinerary?

Only you know what is important to you and this holiday, so keep your personal preferences at the forefront of your mind when booking.

4. Do they offer a 24-hour reception?

Depending on where you are flying from, you may arrive in Dubai at a strange hour of the night. If you do, it would be a tremendous frustration if you couldn’t immediately check into your hotel.

For this reason, it is crucial that you make sure that the hotel you book has a 24-hour reception. Especially if you have had a long flight, you want to be greeted with a warm welcome by a friendly face. This is the start of your holiday (even if it is the middle of the night!)

If you find out that the hotel you wanted to book doesn’t have a 24-hour reception, then see if you can notify the hotel of your arrival time to ensure someone can let you in. Hopefully, your chosen hotel will be able to do this, but there are certain places where you cannot check in if you arrive past a specific time.
